Under The Covers

The cold air has crept in
I rise with the morning sun
Seeking your rays of warmth
You are now the only one

Peeling the layers back slowly
I melt with your smile and face
I’ve never been a summer baby
This heat is now my safe space

Fearing the future of chilly nights
In bed without your chest
My stomach turns with knots
